TRE

TRE® stands for Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises, and is a simple yet innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises trigger a natural tremor in the body which can release long held tension patterns and promote new feelings of connection and relaxation.

Trauma

The psychology of trauma is very complex and the physiology is much easier to explain. In trauma, old parts of the brain are fixed in defence patterns of 'fight or flight' and 'freeze'. TRE® is a really safe and natural process to reboot over protective reflexes.

More Information

I am a TRE® practictioner in training and will be offering this service in 2021. TRE® is an amazing healing modality that works to safely reset your body's stress response. Once you have learnt the exercises and you can feel and allow the tremors to happen, the body will naturally facilitate its own healing and rid itself of the overwhelming traumatic experiences without any narrative involved.

Face to Face

The Tension and Trauma Releasing exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. TRE®'s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing.

Qualifications

TRE®'s certifications programme prepares practitioners to teach safely, responsibly and professionally. Additionally all trainees experience the depth of personal healing, re-balancing and tension releasing that is possible through this somatic process. TRE® integrates well with traditional therapeutic modalities because it supports healing at the deepest levels of the neuro-physiology, where traumatic "fear" responses originate.

Background

David Berceli, Ph.D. is the creator of TRE®. This revolutionary technique is designed to help release the deep tension created in the body during a traumatic experience or through chronic stress. He has spent two decades living and working in nine countries providing trauma relief workshops and designing recovery programmes for international organisations around the world.
